My adorable little photography studio in downtown Sandy, Oregon is such a perfect space for baby and children’s portraits! Leah turned one a few weeks ago, and her Mom wanted to celebrate the occasion with some beautiful First Birthday Milestone Photos. She sent in an inspiration photo and we got to work, first by hiring two amazing local vendors to help out:

First birthday sessions with baby are so much fun! First we warm up a little bit with some low pressure playing because every 1-2 year old I’ve ever met needs a little time to warm up (pssst… don’t do a mini session for first birthdays… they need more than 15 minutes). So we played with balloons and stuffed toys until the smiles came out and Miss Leah started crawling and toddling all over the room (in search of more balloons!) Then I busted out the horse, the couch, the baskets and finally… THE CAKE which this sweet princess absolutely demolished! After the cake we had a warm milk bath to splash in. In the end we came away with SO many adorable photos and even some video clips to memorialize this chapter of Leah’s life.
